Winifred Cutts Bailey

Winifred Cutts Bailey, age 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3rd, 2023. She was born to Jerry and Mary Pearle Worsham Cutts on December 23rd, 1925, in Camilla, Georgia. She graduated valedictorian from West Bainbridge High School in 1942 and retired from the Florida Department of Transportation Safety Office after many years of faithful service. Reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, gardening, and garage sales were some of the things that she enjoyed. Above all- she adored her family more than anything- children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren alike. Winifred is survived by three daughters, Barbara Traylor (Ronny), Frances Powell (David), Sandra Davis (Tommy), and sons John Paul Bailey (Donna), and Jim Bailey (Trish); grandchildren Gina Turner (Bryan), Melanie Hill (Eric), Kathy Bailey Cleveland (PeeWee), Bonnie Jo Bailey, Mike Bailey, Nathaniel Bailey (Donna), Steven Bailey (Yen), Johanna Davis, Brina Davis, Erik Sites (Param), Paul Sites, Amanda Bailey Doherty and Bobby Bailey; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith (Jerry), Kristi Dodson (Josh), Rebecca Turner, Sarah Singletary (Tyler), Taylor Carter, Gage Hill (Jada), Jeremy Fletcher, Benjamin Fletcher, Heather Blake, Finn Bailey, Cael Bailey, Jamila Davis, Bella Davis, Treyton Davis, Freya Sites, Taylor Cleveland Greene (Josh), Amber Cleveland, Ashton Cleveland, Lada Cleveland, and Leah Cleveland; great-great grandchildren, Julianna, Isaiah, Brynlee, Brayden, Raegyn, Rylei, Timberlynn, Elisha Blake, Malachi Blake, Alexis McCord, Jazlyn Myers, Jerimiah Blake, and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved and cherished deeply. Those who were blessed with knowing her would say that she truly carried out Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”. To know her was to feel her warmth of heart, to see her helping hand in action, and to share laughter as she had an incredible sense of humor. Winifred Bailey will be missed greatly by many, however, there is strength to be found in knowing she now resides with Jesus and a few special angels. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Cutts Bailey, brothers Cecil Cutts and Carl Cutts; three sons, George David Bailey, Joseph Stanley Bailey, and Robert Earl Bailey; and grandsons, Shane Tracy Pendleton and Jeremy Wayne Fletcher. The family will be welcoming friends for a visitation at Bevis Funeral Home on January 16th, 2023 at 11:00am followed by a service at 12:00pm.
